The Heart of the Game Scholarship Award was created in memory of Chandler “Chuck” Bakley and Reed Harter—two young men who embodied what it truly means to compete, lead, and show up for others.
They played hard. They led naturally. They cared deeply about their teammates, families, and communities. For Chandler and Reed, the game was never just about winning—it was about commitment, character, and the people beside them.
This scholarship exists to carry that same spirit forward.

Focus areas & Eligibility
Minimum 3.0 GPA required. Applicants should demonstrate strong work ethic, responsibility, and commitment to their academic growth.
One letter of recommendation from a coach or teacher is required. The letter should speak to the applicant’s character, leadership, sportsmanship, and dedication to their team and community.
Applicants must demonstrate active involvement in athletics and a commitment to continuing participation at the collegiate level or meaningful contribution to their team and sport.
